Built by Teachers. For Teachers.
Let’s be real.
Teachers don’t need another binder. Another template. Another system that takes more time than it saves.
You need sleep. You need weekends. You need to remember why you love this job.
That’s where Can-du comes in.
My name is Amanda, and I am the founder of Can-du. I’ve spent most of my life in classrooms, surrounded by little voices, lesson plans, and stacks of paper that somehow kept multiplying overnight. I started out teaching EAL in Brazil, and like most teachers, I got used to creating my own materials because the ones I had never quite fit what my students needed.
When I moved to Canada and started working in early childhood education, I realized teachers everywhere were facing the same problem. We were spending hours planning, organizing, and trying to make sure everything matched the curriculum, often on our own time. Teaching was the part I've always loved, but all the extra work made it hard to actually enjoy it.
After years of feeling that pressure, I started wondering if there was a better way. I’ve always been drawn to technology, so I began exploring how it could help teachers plan faster, stay organized, and save time. That curiosity eventually turned into Can-du.
Can-du is my way of giving teachers what we’ve all needed: one place where lesson planning, organization, and communication actually work together. It’s built to take the mental load off our shoulders, because teachers deserve a space that gives their minds room to breathe so they can focus on what matters most: teaching and making an impact.
But to me, this tool isn’t just about saving time. It’s about changing how the world sees teachers. For decades, we have been expected to do everything with almost nothing, and my goal is for Can-du to set a new standard for what real support looks like in education, and making a positive shift in the system.
Why I built Can-du
Our North Star
We measure success in the only currency that matters: teacher energy.
If you’re sleeping better, we’ve won.
If your students are more engaged, we’ve won.
If you’re smiling on a Friday afternoon, and not just living for the weekend, we’ve really won.
Our real success story is teachers who stay, because the job finally feels good again.
Bigger Than Lesson Plans
Yes, we help you plan faster.
Yes, we align with provincial outcomes.
But the real win? The ripple it creates.
Substitutes walk in ready, not scrambling.
Assistants who know where to jump in.
Parents feel part of the learning, not left out.
And teachers who don’t have to quit to feel whole again.
Small shifts that change the whole system.
That’s what we’re building.
